在相继举办了16届自贡迎春灯会之后，自贡灯会声名鹊起，受到党和国家领导人，中外观众和专家学者的普遍好评和高度赞誉，自贡灯会拥有了向更高阶段发展的新的平台。自贡灯会不应当仅仅是供自贡人民自娱自乐的文化民俗会节，而应该在提升自己的艺术文化品位的同时，在其社会功能、观众覆盖、规模效益等方面取得新的突破、新的拓展，走国际化道路，注入经贸合作和技术交流内涵，成为促进自贡社会经济发展的文化品牌。“自贡国际恐龙灯会经贸交易会”这一新的灯会名称与组织形式便随之应运而生。

After 16-years’ Zigong Spring Lantern Festival consecutively, Zigong Exhibits of Lanterns is more and more famous, which gains the general praise and highly compliments from the CPC and country leaders, the visitors and specialists and scholars as well. In the meantime, Zigong Zigong Exhibits of Lanterns has a new platform to promote itself to a higher stage.
